Blizzard has posted the entire Dev Chat held over Twitter concerning the Icecrown Citadel dungeon.

Blizzard Quote:
If damage and healing is too much per health ratio, then why don’t you have battlegrounds/arenas give a -30% damage/healing debuff?

We have been talking about solutions like that. It might feel a bit awkward, but it might also solve the problem and maybe it’s okay in the last season before an expansion to experiment a little bit.

Is there talk of a fire shield spell for elemental shaman to use like water shield for restoration shaman?

Not at this time.

Do you still have plans to implement guild housing?

Guild housing isn’t a priority. Aside from the huge development involved it gets people out of cities and into these private areas other players can’t see. We like cities to feel populated. But I’m not sure anyone expected WoW to be going as strong as it is after five years, so who knows in the future.

Can you please explain why Feign Death is still on the Spell Hit metric, especially in raids?

It’s a known issue, but just has to do with the way the spell is set up. Melee and ranged attacks mean a very specific thing to the game engine. We’re hoping to be able to clean up some of this with the Cataclysm overhaul.

All specs get a proc weapon from ICC25, except frost death knights and feral druids. Any plans to give these specs ICC25 proc weapons?

It’s tough when you get into the design mode of “everyone must be able to get something from every boss.” We try to cover a reasonable spread of players, but as with the Ashen Verdict rings and the Quel

    I don’t understand Blizzard. Seriously, I don’t understand them.

We have Argent Tournament at Crystalsong before, where it’s protected from the Lich King. Everything fine. But then they change it to Icecrown and, why, why didn’t you keep that “protection”?

One of the main reasons of lore nerds like me hating the place is that the Scourge doesn’t attack it (by attack I mean real serious attack, not the already existing eventual angry mobs and the black knight). That explanation was fine.

You had a great idea. You change it of place and you scrap its lore. Why? Ain’t it better to adapt the already planned lore instead of simply deleting it?

Two naaru protecting the Coliseum. Those 2 accompanying A’dal to save Crusader Bridenbrad: M’ori and K’uri. See? I kept the “protection” factor, and even more, I gave a new role to 2 mostly unused characters, even making their appearance to save Bridenbrad more logic.

Was it that hard to think? No. What was the result of not “protecting” the place from the Scourge? Tons of fans hating the place and forum trolls yelling “WHY DOESN’T ARTHAS DESTROY TEH PLACE!!1!”.

If you read this, Blizzard, as a fan that loves your work, I only have 1 thing to say: take your lore seriously. When any nerd-fan writes better plots and is able to explain the lore better than you (there are pretty good fanfics around), I can’t stop feeling something is wrong with you. Most of the times, it’s easy to solve this kind of problems, but you don’t solve them. Why?

Aside from that and the lore-nerd-fan demands, pretty good chat. The Crystalsong and Azjol-Nerub ones were mine, for example (Omacron sent them, I’m a douche with Twitter and I had to sleep) and I felt like it was worth the read. I’m looking forward the next one.

Also, I felt happy they talked about “what they wished to have made” but couldn’t. It makes me feel nearer to Blizzard and their development process. Here hopes Cataclysm’s lower number of zones let them flesh them out better, so nor them neither me have to feel there’s stuff missing.

And, uh, finally, just wanted to say being in 3.3 doesn’t mean you can’t create level 72 quests. That’s the reply for the “we hadn’t created them yet” (I made that question, too raspberry [don’t believe? check Scrolls of Lore forums xDDD]]). That doesn’t mean you can’t create new low level quests starring them wink.
