A Hot Fix was implemented internally in World of Warcraft patch 1.6.0. which affects resistances and many raid bosses got an increase in Hit points/health—according to Tyren:
Monsters 3+ levels higher than the attacking player were resisting spells at a greater rate than intended. This has been addressed, and players will now be able to land spells with greater success.
Boss monsters in Molten Core, Onyxia, Azuregos, and Kazzak had their HP increased to compensate for the increase in caster DPS they will see. The reduction in resistances outpaces the HP increase. Overall, this is a positive change which will increase casters’ effectiveness against higher level monsters.
Since this change has had a significant detrimental impact on players, we have hotfixed the bug so that players can use their spells and abilities in these situations to their intended effect now rather than waiting until the next scheduled patch.

While DarkNemesis implements the content system for all subdomains, we are talking to XFire who has offered peer-to-peer downloading services to Blizzplanet. This will allow us to add on a Downloads section various links to Wow movies, Wallpapers, Starcraft-Diablo II-Warcraft 3 mods and Map Campaigns and other Blizzard Games files. What I consider interesting in XFire is that the system is closed. Blizzplanet needs to submit the files to XFire to undergo a process of acceptance. In short, XFire makes sure there is no illegal files or infected files running within the peer-to-peer system. Any ad banners you see of XFire will be added by Blizzplanet free to them in exchange of their Peer-to-peer service. We will inform more details to our visitors once we have released the subdomains by Game and their download sections. Bear with us.
Blizzplanet’s last rumor was of Starcraft: Ghost going Multiplayer after seeing a Job Opening in Swingin’Ape Studios. That rumor—originated in Blizzplanet—went around the world through many Gaming Networks two months before it was officially announced by Blizzard(Network links offered at the bottom of the page linked above). Today, after reading Shane Dabiri’s confirmation of a World of Warcraft expansion on the works, we would like to venture on a new rumor based on images from the World of Warcraft Collector’s Edition, which shows images of Undermine Map and a World Map showing possible boat and zeppelin routes with Undermine as main hub. We have the images, and which to share them with fans to estimulate creative comments and opinions of possible Expansion content. Read more details below . . .
Sorrow from our partner Forum Community made a cute find in the World of Warcraft(Europe) website. The Class Webpage displays the words that quote Captain Planet—the TV animated series. Visit the webpage and hold your mouse over the World of Warcraft Classes’s images, and a popup message will display the words: Fire! Wind! Earth! Water! Heart! By your powers combined I am CAPTAIN PLANET
…. Intersting! If you forgot who Captain Planet is, check out the official website as a reminder.
As a reminder, anyone living near Vista in San Diego California, today starts the San Diego Scottish Festival. Starcraft Kerrigan voice actress, Glynnis Talken, will be there at the Tea & Sympathy booth signing her medieval romance books. She told me personally on AOL chat that she would be glad to sign any of your posters or Blizzard products if you bring them along, and may take a photo or participate on her monthly contest where winners get a nice Medieval sword. If you go do not forget to send us photos of the event. Read more details on how to get to the festival Here
Don’t worry about some areas not working or half-layouts with no data. The news section is working properly while DarkNemesis—Chief Programmer, and I re-organize the website layout. We are just few days from launching Blizzplanet’s subdomains for each Game. The Games Headlines atop will serve as shortcuts to the news by game category. After many months of development, DarkNemesis is ready to launch the subsites, where Starcraft: Ghost subsite will have its own content and left menu. World of Warcraft and all other Blizzard games will also have their individual subsites. Each game site will have a subdomain (i.e. http://ghost.blizzplanet.com). We will let you know when we start implementing the subsites. We plan to create custom layouts for each as time goes by. Special thanks to Draco for setting up the subdomains and to Republicola—both from WC3Campaigns—for activating PHP access for them.

Starcraft Mod Open Rebellion, based on the Star Wars Universe was featured on the PCGamer (UK—June 2005 Edition). Gamespy has a 5-pages preview of both Battlegrounds zones: Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch.
Miguel: This, in my opinion, is the definitive WoW PvP experience. The map is huge, densely populated with players, NPCs, and monsters, and it greatly rewards coordination and strategy. Case in point: try taking the Alliance base without both Lokkmar (the huge, summonable epic boss that aids the Horde in its assault) and a group of beefed-up wolf raiders. It’s impossible. The arches on those last two guard towers will chew you up, not to mention the entire Alliance raid that’s sure to have gathered in the meantime. It’s insane. My last match lasted six hours, and I got over 1,000 honorable kills. It was really late at night by the time it was over, but once we took that last graveyard, and destroyed one of the last guard towers, I knew it wasn’t going to be long.
1UP.com published a short preview of the upcoming game Hellgate: London:
“The engine is beautiful, and if it can really create an endless series of randomly generated dungeons to crawl though, the replayability factor will be enormous. The weird blend of magic and realism, in both items and environments, should make for a compelling and surreal game world—we look forward to smiting hellspawn in and around landmarks like Big Ben and the Millennium Dome.”
GameInformer Magazine(June Edition) will feature an article of Hellgate: London. You may find the magazine at any newsstand store or directly at the Magazine website

Jason Hayes, Blizzard Music Composer, reveals his recent work on the music for a Coca-Cola commercial in China. Blizzplanet will update you when the download is available:
Jason Hayes: I just finished working on a really cool television commercial for Coca-Cola in China! It’s scheduled to launch this summer, and I’m going to try and get permission to post it here after it’s released – perhaps at the end of July. I had spoken with the project manager on the commercial about my getting permission to post the spot here on the website. He said that would probably be ok, as long as I wait until the commercial debuts in China first. That’s supposed to happen very soon (it might have already started), probably to coincide with the recent launch of World of Warcraft in China.
He asked me to get back with him at the end of this month, and he can let me know if it’s ok to post it. So maybe we’ll be uploading it here soon! I’ll let you know as soon as I know more.
Players looking for more information on the war between Horde and Alliance will want to read our newest guide on PvP Honor, created by Blizzard Europe. It’s a must-read for any prospective PvP combatant and we’ve posted it on our site. Check it out!
Blackwing Lair will be released in the next content patch within the next two-to-three weeks, to be expected by the end of June or beginning of July, as reported by Jeff Kaplan(Tigole)—World of Warcraft Quest Designer:
“We had the final Blackwing Lair playtest on Monday at which time the dungeon was “locked out” and sent through the QA process so it can be delivered to you guys. So I wanted to give an early head’s up that Blackwing is on the horizon and should be in-game in the near future. Keep in mind, there are other things that can hold up a patch. I would expect Blackwing to be delivered to you guys around the end of June or early July. That’s my rough estimate at least.
As for Zul’Gurub, the zone is making great progress. We’ve recently re-lit the zone and replaced many of the buildings in there. I’ve seen people release screenshots of the zone that they’ve obtained by cheating their way in (this will get you banned btw!) but I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised to see the actual zone when it is live. The item and quest guys have some real challenges with this zone. Their goal is to keep all of the items and quests for the top end dungeons relevant while still making Zul’Gurub items desirable. Yet at the same time, the Zul’Gurub quests and items cannot outshine the Molten Core and above loot.
Some of the boss fights are really cool, as well. We had a ton of fun designing them and we’re really looking forward to getting them out there for you guys.
The dungeon and raid team has also been working on some “top secret” stuff that you’ll probably hear about soon.
But in the meantime, Blackwing Lair and Zul’Gurub are not that far off!”
Recently, Blizzard offered a Full preview of Blackwing Lair.
We are glad to announce new changes Blizzplanet will undergo in the upcoming days to grow and evolve. DarkNemesis—Chief Programmer of Blizzplanet, is finishing a new content module. Each Blizzard game will have its own subdomain, with its own content, menu and layout. The subdomain websites will be for Starcraft: Ghost, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Diablo II and Blizzard Classic games. We will have a separate subsite for Flagship Studios new game Hellgate: London to which Blizzplanet is a official fan site.
Special thanks to Draco from WC3Campaigns.com for setting up the subdomains. As you have noticed, Blizzplanet has a new Forum Community with 31,000 members. We decided to merge with Warcraft3.com to offer Blizzplanet visitors a vast community with friendly members and moderators. The Starcraft, Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 sub-sites will have a large database of Mods and Map Campaigns available through the community. Modders and map makers will be able to submit links to their projects.
Blizzard will move to the next stage in the legal case against BNETD programmers on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, as reported by the Electronic Frontier Foundation website. If Blizzard won, it would set a precedent against modders that create illegal servers. Thumbs up! Share your comments in our Forum
Along with co-counsel Paul Grewal of Day Casebeer, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is representing three open source software engineers who reverse-engineered an aspect of Blizzard’s Battlenet game server in order to create a free software game server called BnetD that works with lawfully purchased Blizzard games. The BnetD server lets gamers have a wider range of options when playing online. The lower court held that the reverse-engineering of the games needed to create this new option for consumers was illegal.
The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals will determine whether the three software programmers were in violation of the anticircumvention provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and Blizzard Games’ end user license agreement (EULA). EFF will argue that the DMCA expressly protects the programming and distributing of programs such as BnetD and this protection cannot be undercut by general state contract law as applied to EULAs.
