UDE Also Increases Players’ Opportunities to Find Loot™ Cards by Randomly Inserting More per Set

CARLSBAD, Ca. (October 15, 2007) – Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) takes the award-winning World of Warcraft® TCG to a whole new level in November with a brand-new booster pack configuration.  Beginning with the upcoming release of March of the Legion™, players will now be able to purchase 19-card packs for the same price as previously released 15-card expansion packs.  Adding additional cards per purchase gives players more opportunity to collect the set’s three new randomly inserted Loot™ cards.

March of the Legion will be available in participating hobby and retail stores beginning in late November. The new booster pack configuration will be featured in all World of Warcraft TCG expansion product released thereafter.

“Players will get more cards for the same price as previous World of Warcraft TCG booster packs,” said Dan Bojanowski, World of Warcraft TCG Product Manager.  “Booster drafts will now be more accessible to players because they will only have to purchase three packs to play.  Sealed pack tournament play will be much stronger because players will now have more cards in hand.”

Bojanowski added, “We will also make it easier to collect the three exciting new Loot cards by randomly inserting more Loot cards per set, which will give players a greater opportunity to experience the exciting online in-game items everyone has been talking about.”

While each booster pack will now contain four additional cards per pack (three common cards and one uncommon card) plus one UDE Points card, each March of the Legion Starter Set will contain a 33-card deck built for one of the nine character classes, three oversized Hero cards, two booster packs to customize decks and one rulebook.

Both products will feature the randomly inserted Loot cards that give players who receive them access to unique World of Warcraft in-game items.  The set’s Loot cards will feature foil versions of the regular cards with a modified card template, which adds a great look to any player’s deck.  All Loot cards can only be found through the World of Warcraft TCG.

An introduction to the second year of the award-winning World of Warcraft TCG, March of the Legion serves as a solid expansion set and the perfect way for players to begin collecting strong cards for deck building.  The set will feature Aldor and Scryer sub-factions, new keywords, and demonic allies.

Based on Blizzard Entertainment®’s hit massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG), the TCG allows players to experience the action and adventure of World of Warcraft in a new format.  Released last year, the TCG’s premiere set quickly became the hottest and most-sought-after trading card game in the industry, prompting UDE to reproduce additional quantities to support the overwhelming demand.

All World of Warcraft TCG products are heavily supported by UDE Organized Play programs.  Upcoming tournaments and programs made especially for the TCG include the World of Warcraft TCG Darkmoon Faire (Friday, October 26 through Sunday, October 29) and the World of Warcraft TCG World Championship Tournament (late November), which will also feature the last Darkmoon Faire of 2007.  In addition, each tournament will feature numerous World of Warcraft TCG events and activities for players of all levels.

World of Warcraft is the most popular MMORPG in the world, with more than 9 million subscribers playing the game in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Europe, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. In World of Warcraft, players assume the roles of legendary heroes and interact with thousands of other players online as they explore, adventure and quest across a vast realm. Whether journeying together or fighting against one another in epic battles, players form friendships, forge alliances and compete against enemies for power and glory.
