Blizzard has released the Wrathgate in-game cinematic and is now available at the official website for your viewing pleasure. Now you can show it to your friends. The best part of this news bit is that Blizzard hinted there will be more in-game cinematics. Will the defeat of Arthas the Lich King augur the next one in the series?

The Wrathgate cinematic, dubbed by fans as the Hour of the Forsaken, is triggered when you complete the long questline that starts with Audience with the Dragon Queen at level 74 in Dragonblight. Saurfang the Younger and Highlord Bolvar Fordragon unite to fight the Scourge at the Wrathgate and Arthas the Lich King makes an appearance before them. Without spoiling the outcome for those who haven’t experienced, what happens in this in-game cinematic seals the end of the pact between the Horde and the Alliance setting them anew at war.

One of the design goals for Wrath of the Lich King was to elevate storytelling in World of Warcraft to new heights. Northrend is brought to life by engaging quests, memorable characters, beautiful environments, and the introduction of a brand-new feature: in-game cinematics. The first of these cinematics, The Wrath Gate, is now available for viewing and download on the Wrath of the Lich King website.Check it out now!
