Hellfire Peninsula is a huge arid place with a war torn landscape. The Expeditionary Force’s catapults and ruins may be found all around. It offers fans some background of what happened in Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal RTS game. Currently, the Burning Legion clashes against the Alliance and Horde forces at the other end of the Dark Portal. Hellfire Citadel is heavily guarded by Shattered Hand, Bonechewer, Bleeding Hollow, and other fel orc clans. Illidan is the new master of the Fel orcs after defeating Magtheridon the pitlord in Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne. With the death of Mannoroth, Fel Orcs needed a new bloodlust source and they have enslaved Magtheridon within the Hellfire Citadel to serve their crave for magic. The Broken Ones and corrupted Draenei have been betrayed by their own and serve Illidan unquestionably for power. Most of the tribes are now slaves serving the Naga. The Undead Forsaken have sought an alliance with the Unyielding, ghosts of the Expedition Force who died at the Expedition Armory. Nazgrel, the advisor of Thrall, is now leading the Thrallmar village forces attempting to stop the Burning Legion from bringing reinforcements, while also weakening the Fel orc defenses. It is in Hellfire Peninsula where the Horde discovers of the existence of uncorrupted orcs, the Mag’har, who remain true to the old ways of shamanism. |
