A few days ago, the voice actor of the StarCraft II character Jim Raynor — Robert Clotworthy — revealed in Facebook he would be making a StarCraft-related announcement at the StarCraft II World Championship Series (WCS) America Finals on Sunday, August 11th.

Joshua Gray (Clutch) interviewed Robert Clotworthy (Jim Raynor) and James Harper (Emperor Mengsk). Robert finally revealed what the special announcement was — and it was authorized by Blizzard Entertainment.

Clutch: Jim, any hints — of what you can say — of what’s going to happen?

Clotworthy: Well, let’s just put it this way. I spoke to Blizzard and they allowed me to say this: We have begun the voice recording for StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void.

So about a week and a half ago, we were in the studio with a couple of the other actors, and we started to work on it. So hopefully we’ll have it out not in a distant future.

Around 5:21:45 in the VOD, the following was revealed:

Clutch: You announced that Legacy of the Void — you started work on it.

Clotworthy: That was a special surprise. I don’t think anybody knows we were actually at the studio. There’s been a lot of speculation as to where the game was, and I wanted to let fans know that the story has already been written, a lot of the cinematics have been done, and the voice actors are in the studio and working on it now. Blizzard will put it out when the game is ready.

I have seen the story, and I’m telling you — there are some surprises, some twists, some turns, it’s going to be really exciting.

Clutch: “The Protoss will be unleashed” — that’s Chris Metzen’s words for Legacy of the Void.

I have one special announcement. Speaking of fans, we have fans all around the world. But some of our best fans are in Canada. Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m happy to announce that the Season 3 Finals for the WCS will be taking place in Toronto, Canada in October.

This is very significant. It’s highly possible that Blizzard Entertaiment might be showcasing StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void at BlizzCon 2013 this upcoming November 8-9.

From past experiences, it is possible Blizzard might show a cinematic teaser, some single player gameplay and/or have hands-on demo stations at the Anaheim Convention Center. This is all speculation at this point.

The interview began at 5:08:30 in the following video:
