World of Warcraft: The Shattering by Christie Golden has ascended into the New York Times Best Seller List just weeks after its release. The novel hit the # 21 in the TOP 35 Best Selling Hardcover Fiction List.

These lists are an expanded version of those appearing in the November 7 print edition of the Book Review. Rankings reflect sales, for the week ending October 23, at many thousands of venues where a wide range of general interest books are sold nationwide. These include hundreds of independent book retailers (statistically weighted to represent all such outlets); national, regional and local chains; online and multimedia entertainment retailers; university, gift, supermarket, discount department stores and newsstands.

Christie earned the New York Times Best Seller title with last year’s World of Warcraft: Arthas, Rise of the Lich King and there was yet another NY Times best seller not long ago — World of Warcraft: Shaman (Tokyopop, Manga) by Paul Benjamin. World of Warcraft Stormrage by Richard A. Knaak was the # 1 in the Wall Street Journal Best Selller List and # 2 in the Locus Magazine Best Seller List.

It’s been an excellent year for Blizzard Entertainment, the writers and gamers.

Blizzard Quote:

Despite having just been released earlier this week, The Shattering by Christie Golden has rocketed into the New York Times best seller list.

This prelude to Cataclysm follows major faction characters as they adjust to life after the war with the Lich King, before being abruptly attacked by the land and elements themselves. What is leading to these devastating earthquakes and ship-sinking squalls? Magni believes he has found the secret through his brother’s research, while Thrall believes an already shattered world holds the secrets. If you’re looking forward to the Cataclysm expansion, this is a must-read to catch you up and prepare you for the epic story about to be unveiled.

The book is available in the Blizzard Store and all fine book retailers. — source
