World of Warcraft Patch 5.2 Easter Egg: I Believe You Can Fly

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft News

World of Warcraft Patch 5.2 (build 16486) introduced a new quest for level 60 players. This quest appears onscreen automatically upon reaching level 60 to alert players they can now visit the riding trainer to learn the Expert Riding skill.

The title has a funny vibe to it, we know Blizzard developers love easter eggs and pop culture references.

“I Believe You Can Fly” — is a reference to R. Kelly “I Believe I Can Fly” (YouTube video)

Patch 5.2 Choose Your Reputation Button on Random Dungeon LFG

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft News

This system is not fully implemented in the PTR 5.2, but build 16486 added cosmetic changes that suggest players who queue to Random Dungeon LFG can choose which reputation faction they wish to gain reputation points with.

In the Random Dungeon LFG window and Scenario window, there is a red button which says: “Choose Reputation”. Clicking that button opens up your character window’s reputation tab.

At this point, PTR players can’t yet choose a reputation. Work in Progress.

patch-5-2-random-dungeon-reputation-changes

Eldorian linked me to a blue post concerning this new feature:

As the PTR Patch Notes read currently, it’s the first dungeon and first scenario. Of course, things might change, but that’s the plan right now.

The answer was/is so blooming obvious, you never had to re-invent the wheel, just put the old one back on – simply having both at release (instead of removing tabards) – Blizz could of scored a blinder by satisfying everyone – missed opportunity by not keeping tabards with the current daily system on release, missed it again in 5.1 and instead opt for a watered down fix in 5.2.
If one of them is the obvious path to get it done faster, the developers have seen over the years that the players will take that path, even if it’s something they just don’t like doing (which is probably why some people feel dailies are mandatory, because they’d like to spend their valor points on that gear rather than using the item upgrade system, perhaps because the’ll spend them better there).

Also, keep in mind that in 5.2, valor gear will have a reputation requirement, but this reputation won’t be earned from daily quests (which will also be available and it’s a different faction).

World of Warcraft Patch 5.2 – The Thunder Isle Daily Quests: Preventing a Future Threat

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Preventing a Future Threat

Ako Var: It pains me to think of the torture the poor skyscreamers must endure as the trolls train them to become implements of war.

The hatchlings are quite fearful, and will fly away if you even get close to them. Please, frighten some away before the Zandalari corrupt them.

ako-var

Objectives

Frighten 20 Hatchling Skyscreamers by running near them.

patch-5-2-alliance-daily-quests-preventing-a-future-threat-1

Map

The Hatchling Skyscreamers can be found on the beach south of Trolltonshire.

Completion

Ako Var: Welcome back, (race). The hatchlings you frightened will live a better life without their captors.

Made For War [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Made For War

Warmage Yurias: Some things are built with multiple purposes in mind. Some things are built with the sole purpose of destruction.

A massive construct called the Pyrestar Demolisher sits guarding Dawnseeker Promontory. Its purpose is solely to destroy. It must be dismantled.

Completion

Warmage Yurias: Excellent work, (race). The problem with constructs is they can always be rebuilt.

I imagine it will not take the Sunreavers long to build a new death machine.

High Recognition [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

High Recognition

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: Your presence on the battlefield cannot be ignored. I would like to give you something extra for your efforts, (class).

Rewards: Arcane Trove, 24g-72s, 50 Conquest Points and 5 Lesser Charm of Good Fortune.

Note: Among the known random items that can be found by opening the Arcane Trove are: Spirit of Harmony, Elder Charm of Good Fortune and Lei Shen summoning stone.

Old Enemies [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Old Enemies

Vereesa Windrunner: To think, we were once on the same side! The Sunreavers’ treachery caught us all off guard. Never again!

They have shown their true natures to us. Siding with Garrosh and his madness has marked them all for death.

Kill any agent of the Sunreavers that you find. We will show them no mercy here.

Objectives

Kill 10 Sunreaver agents or players on the Isle of Thunder.

Completion

Vereesa Windrunner: You have put a good dent in the Sunreaver forces here. Like vermin, there will always be more. We must be at the ready at all times.

Mana Scavengers [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Mana Scavengers

Captain Elleane Wavecrest: Sometimes, even the smallest creatures can be the biggest threat.

The Sunreavers brought mana wyrms with them. Though small in size they have the ability to cripple our casters in combat. Many have learned the hard way not to underestimate them.

They must be dealt with and quickly.

Objectives

Kill 9 Sunreaver Mana Wyrms.

Completion

Captain Elleane Wavecrest: You’ve made excellent progress today, (class). Rest assured however, our work here is nowhere close to done.

Breaking Down the Defenses [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Breaking Down the Defenses

Captain Elleane Wavecrest: Even the strongest defense can still have a weakness, (class). We just need to find the weakness in the Sunreaver’s defense and then exploit it as much as possible.

Scouts have reported the use of perimeter wards around Dawnseeker Promontory. They’re powerful, but not deadly.

Disabling them would allow us to keep closer watch on their activities.

Objectives

Destroy 6 Sunreaver Perimeter Wards around Dawnseeker Promontory.

Completion

Captain Elleane Wavecrest: Excellent work, (race)! I was able to get a few of my scouts behind their lines before the perimeter wards were repaired.

Charged Moganite [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Charged Moganite

Warmage Yurias: We have been dispatching spies into the Sunreaver base of operations on a daily basis. Some had orders to recover charged moganite from the enemy and bring it here.

They have not returned, and I can confirm they have left the Sunreaver base.

Search the jungle between here and there and find any of the charged moganite that might have been lost in transit. Bring it to me and we will put it to good use.

Objectives

Recover a Charged Moganite and bring it to Warmage Yurias.

Progression

Note: There is more than one Charged Moganite. Players can identify it by looking for the big interacive icon floating above the item. After clicking the Charged Moganite, the item is clipped on the character’s back. Similar to the Warsong Gulch flag, players have to walk all the way back to the Violet Rise and turn in the quest at Warmage Yurias. Players can’t mount while carrying the Charged Moganite.

Warmage Yurias: Mmm. This is a good crystal. You have done well, (name).

(Charged Moganite returned to Violet Rise: 1/1)

Completion

Warmage Yurias: Well done, champion. This artifact will be put to better use in our hands than in the hands of the Sunreavers.

Captive Audience [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Captive Audience

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: The Sunreavers will stoop to even the lowest levels to get what they want, (name).

I received reports earlier that several Kirin Tor have gone missing. I suspect the Sunreavers may have something to do with this.

Hopefully they have not been harmed, or my wrath will be swift and terrible. I trust you to bring them back in one piece, but please hurry.

Objectives

Free 5 Kirin Tor Captives near Dawnseeker Promontory.

Completion

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: You have saved many today, (name). I cannot imagine the horror of being frozen and helpless among so many enemies.

Overpowered [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Overpowered

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: The Sunreaver forces have grown more powerful recently. I suspect magic to be at play here, but I can’t be certain.

I think it would be wise to investigate their camp to see if you can find the source of this extra power.

Once you find it, use this crystal to overload and destroy it.

Objectives

Destroy 7 Sunreaver Mana Collectors around Dawnseeker Promontory.

Completion

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: So they’ve constructed objects that infuse their forces with additional power? This will have to be watched closely.

Thank you for your efforts today.

Harbingers of the Loa [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Harbingers of the Loa

Archmage Lan’dalock: If you spend some time in Za’Tual, you will likely see one of their large tents emanating a pure form of evil.

Please, venture into the troll camp and put a stop to these unspeakable rituals.

Objectives

Slay 2 Harbingers of the Loa.

Completion

Archmage Lan’dalock: Most who witness such rituals never return, and those that do tend to be shaken. You, (name), seem little moved by your incredible deeds. I am impressed.

Dangers of Za’Tual [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Dangers of Za’Tual

Archmage Lan’dalock: The Zandalari are a formidable foe – more so than many foes we’ve encountered in the past. But you are a formidable foe as well, (name).

Enter Za’Tual to and show them the risks associated with opposing the likes of you.

Objectives

Slay 12 Trolls in Za’Tual.

Completion

Archmage Lan’dalock: (Name), your help against the Zandalari is appreciated. I realize it seems we cannot stem the tide, but your efforts make a difference.

Grave Circumstances [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Grave Circumstances

Narasi Snowdawn: The Court of Bones crawls with mogu forces. Endlessly do they perform their rituals of lightning and thunder.

If our mission to take this island is to succeed, then we cannot allow them to hold such a strategic position.

They must be eliminated.

Objectives

Kill 10 Shan’ze Gravekeepers, Shan’ze Soulrippers, or Shan’ze Thundercallers.

Completion

Narasi Snowdawn: Excellent. You have dealt the mogu a blow that they shall not easily forget.

Za’Tual [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Za’Tual

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: The Zandalari have been a constant nuisance since we arrived on this island. I’ve assigned Archmage Lan’dalock to take charge of dismantling their presence at Za’Tual, in the south.

Report to him when you are best able. He will have work for you.

Objectives

Find Archmage Lan’dalock outside of Za’Tual.

Completion

Archmage Lan’dalock: One more to join the Zandalari hunt? Good. Very good.

The Bloodletter [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

The Bloodletter

Vylene Amaranth: I have heard a distrubing report, (class).

Just beyond our position, in the Court of Bones, the mogu bring captives to a general named Kaida the Bloodletter.

He thrives on torturing his victims.

This monster must be stopped. If you fall to his blade, I wish you a swift death.

Objectives

Kill Kaida the Bloodletter.

Progression

Kaida the Bloodletter: Ah, a new subject? I will take you apart .. piece by piece!

(Kaida the Bloodletter slain: 1/1)

Completion

Vylene Amaranth: I am glad to hear that this piece of filth is slain. You have done us all a great favor, (name).

The Residents of Uhgaluk [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

The Residents of Uhgaluk

Lyalia: The Skumblade threaten our people, but responding with all out slaughter would be an overreaction.

A more reasonable response to their threat would be to slay some of their tribal leaders. There will be less bloodshed, and they will still respect our perimeter.

Objectives

Slay a Skumblade Brute, a Skumblade Saur-Priest, and a Skumblade Snapdragon.

completion

Lyalia: I know the true price of bloodhshed. I know the cost of war.

It would be simpler to blindly massacre out attackers until they yield. But is it right?

Allies in the Shadow [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Allies in the Shadows

Lady Jaina Proudmoore: The Shado-Pan arrived here before we did, and they are already at work undermining the Thunder King’s forces.

I want you to meet with Taran Zhu, the leader of the Shado-Pan, and offer your services on behalf of the Kirin Tor. I doubt he is truly in need of the aid, but the gesture holds importance in itself.

Objectives

Speak to Taran Zhu in Bleak Hollow.

Completion

Taran Zhu: Welcome, (name).

Ihgaluk Crag [A] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Ihgaluk Crag

Captain Elleane Wavecrest: Archmage Modera has taken over at Ihgaluk Crag, to the southeast, continuing her efforts to turn the Saurok against the Zandalari and mogu.

Go to her, and help in any way that you can.

Objectives

Find Archmage Modera outside of Ihgaluk Crag.

Completion

Archmage Modera: You have good timing. I am quite in need of your assistance.

The Conquest of Stone [H] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

The Conquest of Stone

Ryshelle Brightlock: In the Court of Bones, the Thunder King’s sorcerers perform dark rituals.

To bolster their numbers, the Shan’ze soulrippers are imbuing ancient stone statues with stolen spirits from the living.

After these stone conquerors are brought to life, they will be formidable opponents on the battlefield.

We must stop their ritual before these statues can be revived.

Objectives

Stop the Ancient Stone Conqueror ritual in the main temple at the Court of Bones.

Completion

Ryshelle Brightlock: A good defense is just as effective as a strong offense. One less enemy to worry about.

Well done.

Dark Offerings [H] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Dark Offerings

Elina Zaralae: The spiritbinders of the Zandalari perform sacrificial rites to appease the loa and their vile gods. These dark rituals involve the sacrifice of our people.

Destroy any offerings you can find among their tents in Za’Tual and perhaps we can stall the sacrifices.

Objectives

Destroy 6 Zandalari Offerings.

Completion

Elina Zaralae: The tide of blood is slowed, at least for a time. Thank you for your efforts in stalling the sacrifices, (class).

Just Some Light Clean-Up Work [H] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Just Some Light Clean-Up Work

Amalia Penshire: This is not a glamorous job. Let me put it to your bluntly.

The Skumblade saurok pile all of their filth into a pool in the middle of their village. This filth is so concentrated and so rancid that it has congealed into moving, animate matter.

The saurok can keep their filth-pool, but once it starts spreading outside of the village, I’d say it’s time to intervene.

Objectives

Disperse 75 pieces of filth by killing Quivering Filth in Ihgaluk Crag.

Completion

Amalia Penshire: Jobs like this make me glad that I left most of my nose in the tomb.

The Skumblade Threat [H] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

The Skumblade Threat

Archmage Aethas Sunreaver: Ihgaluk Crag has no end of saurok. Those beasts attack my men and spread their disease into nearby water and wildlife, interfering with our operations.

Thin their numbers, (name). Once the Horde takes full control of this island, we can look for more permanent solutions.

Objectives

Slay 10 Skumblade saurok.

Completion

Archmage Aethas Sunreaver: One day, this island will belong to the Horde. I can only hope that it will be free of saurok before then.

Sunwalker Dezco: The Skumblade threaten our people, but responding with all-out slaughter would be an overreaction.

A more reasonable response to their threat would be to slay some of their tribal leaders. There will be less bloodshed, and they will still respect our perimeter.

Objectives

Slay a Skumblade Brute, a Skumblade Saur-Priest, and a Skumblade Seadragon.

Sunwalker Dezco: I know the true price of bloodshed. I know the cost of war.

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Heinous Sacrifice

Elina Zaralae: The Zandalari perform heinous rites against our people! They must be stopped!

Delve into the heart of the Za’Tual and destroy their altars.

Objectives

Destroy the Zandalari sacrificial altars.

Completion

Elina Zaralae: I could feel the magic of their altars dissipating even here, (class).

Into the Crypts [H] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Into the Crypts

Ryshelle Brightlock: The Reliquary is having a field day out here, literally!

Every day, the researchers find more relics to study and catalog.

Recently, one of our adventurers found this scroll at the Court of Bones.

I believe that this incantation can be used to call beyond the grave. And if my Mogu is up to date, I’d say you should use it in the last room in the Hall of the Exalted.

Would you be willing to test out my theory?

Objectives

Use the Incantation of Gura in the Hall of the Exalted, then defeat Gura the Reclaimed.

Progression

Note: A broken mogu statue has an inscription on a marble plaque which says:

“Lord Gura commanded the very power of the storm at his fingertips. With a single word, he could blanket the earth in crackling electricity. Those caught in his storm died a terrible, scorching death.”

Gura the Reclaimed: Die by the fury of the storm!

Completion

Ryshelle Brightlock: Ah yes, you’ve just confirmed my theory! Thank you, (class).

Stone Cold [H] World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2

Written by Medievaldragon on . Posted in Patch 5.2 - The Thunder Isle, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Stone Cold

Ryshelle Brightlock: Our assault on the Court of Bones continues. Our progress remains slow, but measurable.

Unfortunately, we’ve received several reports of stone quilen statues coming to life without warning. I can’t have these quilen threatening my research expedition.

Venture into the Court of Bones and destroy any quilen statues that you can find.

Objectives

Destroy 8 Grave Guardians.

Progression

Ryshelle Brightlock: The mogu’s history is fraught with savage conquest and tests of strength. After thousands of years, only the strongest members of their race have survived.

Completion

Ryshelle Brightlock: I am glad to hear that you left the quilen in a thousand tiny pieces. You have contributed much to our war effort.
