World of Warcraft Trojan Alert

A new trojan is attacking players, according to InformationWeek, stealing World of Warcraft account password. Download the latest Anti-Virus updates.  Make sure it contains an update to clean this specific trojan. Then change your password.  Notify Blizzard Billing Account immediately if you were affected.

A new password-stealing Trojan targeting players of the popular online game “World of Warcraft” hopes to make money off secondary sales of gamer goods, a security company warned Tuesday.

MicroWorld, an Indian-based anti-virus and security software maker with offices in the U.S., Germany, and Malaysia, said that the PWS.Win32.WOW.x Trojan horse was spreading fast, and attacking World of Warcraft players.

Drysc (Blizzard) commented: ” Thank you for bringing this information to our attention.

Trojans pose a real and credible threat to all users, and it is extremely important that the necessary precuations be taken, both through use of anti-trojan (and other security) software, and ‘smart’ browsing habits.
