The Wildstorm Comics’ World of Warcraft # 22-25 and the World of Warcraft Special # 1 will be reprinted into a hardcover trade paperback titled World of Warcraft Book 4 Hardcover. This hardcover will be on sale on October 27, 2010 — coinciding with the nigh release date of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

If fans missed reading the comic book, this is a perfect chance at catching up with a Cataclysm tie-in. It is very relevant to what’s going on in the expansion. The Cataclysm itself was prophesized in the comic book by the first ogre-magi Cho’gall, true leader of the Twilight’s Hammer.

In the prophecy, the son of Medivh and Garona would die and the unleashing of his powers would open the prison of the Old gods. While the prophecy was broken, and Med’an didn’t die, something happened which was not explained. Cho’gall absorbed a mega-blast from Med’an and redirected it into what looked like the Maelstrom.

The Twilight Highlands and the Blackrock Caverns are testament of the continued efforts of Cho’gall and his Twilight’s Hammer Clan to bring about the Cataclysm as a step to weaken the barrier between the Elemental Plane and Azeroth as a prelude to the release of the Old gods from their eternal prison.

Thought C’thun and Yogg-Saron are dead? They can be resurrected by the Twilight’s Hammer — as shown in these comic book issues.
