Wrathion: The Pandaren campaign is only beginning! We turn our attention now to the ongoing conflict between the Alliance and the Horde.
My contacts in Ravenholdt tell me that the Alliance 7th Legion and a considerable Horde invasion force are converging toward Pandaria’s southern shores. Like it or not, Pandaria may soon become a battlefield.
We are done for now, but I want you to contact me when your fleet arrives. Then … together we will spring into action!
Contact Wrathion once your naval fleet makes landfall on the southern coast of Pandaria.
Wrathion: We are just getting started, friend! Our greatest challenges lie ahead. But when war comes to these shores, you and I will be ready for it!
Wrathion: They’re here!
(Wrathion claps his hands and rubs them together, excitedly.)
Oh (name). Things are about to get exciting.
The Measure of a Leader
Wrathion: We’ve progressed to a new part of the Pandaren campaign. Your Warchief aims to impress the Pandaren with the full might of the Horde’s military. He will lay claim to the resources of this land, with or without Pandaren aid.
I understand your leader’s aims, but I really want to understand the Warchief himself. What drives him? And where is the Horde ultimately going? I’d like to talk to you about this leader of yours.
Speak with Wrathion at the Tavern in the Mists.
- Speak to Wrathion
Wrathion: We are just beginning our Pandaren campaign, (name).
Wrathion: Garrosh Hellscream. Warchief of the Horde. He did not always command such power. On Draenor, he was a miserable wretch. The actions of his father hung heavy on his heart.
I understand you, Garrosh. I know what it is like to bear the weight of your father’s deeds.
A warrior like Garrosh comes to power with something to prove.
Your Horde finds itself at a turning point. This war will define you. What IS the Horde?
Is it an instrument of vengeance, hellbent to carve out a future for its people?
Is it a refuge for those who need shelter, a commonwealth of the downtrodden, built for mutual support?
Or is it an alliance of convenience, a confederacy of unlikely partners free to pursue their own agendas?
This is my question to you: What is the SOUL of the Horde?
You will find the answers here in Pandaria. Show me what your Horde is made of, Champion! Prove to me that your Horde is worthy of ruling over Azeroth.
Wrathion: Like all great leaders, Garrosh has greatly extended himself. Just what is he ultimately capable of?
More importantly, what YOU are capable of? Fresh bloodshed along the coast gives us an opportunity to find out…
World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria introduced the longest lore questline to date in the MMO. The Wrathion Legendary Questline uncovers several lore plots surrounding the secrets of Pandaria, and opens a window into the future of World of Warcraft. Wrathion shows players there is an incoming war threatening all life in Azeroth. The Burning Legion is returning. The petty conflict between the Alliance and the Horde must come to an end if this world is to withstand the coming conflict.
In order to secure the future, you must help Wrathion gather several items of knowledge and power.

I Need a Champion
Wrathion: You are a superb representative of your people, (race). But I need someone special. I have big plans. And to enact them I will need a champion to carry my flame to the four corners of the world.
Are you the one?
Prove it to me on the Isle of Thunder! Lay waste to any mogu, Zandalari, or saurok that you find. Impress me!
Earn Exalted Reputation with the Black Prince by defeating mogu, Zandalari, and saurok enemies on the Isle of Thunder.
Wrathion: My Shado-Pan associates have spoken highly of your deeds. You have earned quite the name for yourself here in Pandaria!
It is settled. When the materials are ready, you will be my champion. You will be my instrument, my standard-bearer, my voice of change across this world.
We will do marvelous things together.
At the center of the Isle of Thunder is the Temple Grounds. On each corner, you will find a group of Shado-Pan fighting Animated Warriors (mogu). About 2-3 of these spawn every few seconds. Grab the summoners too. Tag the mobs, and let the Shado-Pan guards help you to kill them. Each mob grants 55 Reputation (with the Fast Track Guild perk Rank 2 ). A player reported he obtained 12,000 Reputation after 70 minutes. (equals 280 mogu killed)
The Soul of the Horde
Wrathion: (Class), through your eyes I’ve been able to witness the fighting along the coast, and the epic course of battles around the world. You’ve been very patient … and most informative.
I’ve also been keeping a close eye on Garrosh Hellscream. Would you be interested to hear what I’ve learned?
Speak with Wrathion.
Wrathion: You have proven to be an exemplary hero. A champion for your cause. Do you recall our earlier conversation?
We spoke of your Warchief. His inner conflicts and his outer conquests. I asked you: Who is the soul of the Horde?
Your efforts on Pandaria’s southern shores and elsewhere have given me my answer. YOU are the soul of the Horde. Your actions in the coming weeks will come to define your people.
I want to make sure that you are properly equipped for the trials ahead. Tong: fetch my things!
Your dedication to your cause deserves to be rewarded. Like you, I continue to refine my skills here in Pandaria. I think you will appreciate the outcome. Choose your reward!
(A strange device sits within an ornate silk-lined chest. It appears as though it can be fastened to your sha-touched weapon as an additional upgrade. The empty socket is disconcerting; you feel as though it is staring back at you. A single, holow, judgemental eye…)
A Change of Command
Wrathion: There’s an Alliance dwarf I’ve been keeping a close eye on. High Marshal Twinbraid proved to be a nuisance in Southern Barrens when he struck back at the Horde after the loss of Bael Modan. He’s now entrenched within the Alliance stronghold in Lion’s Landing, helping to orchestrate the Krasarang counter-offensive.
Only a legendary group of Horde heroes could possibly defeat him.
If you wish to finish him off, bring friends. Lots of friends.
Kill High Marshal Twinbraid at Lion’s Landing in Krasarang Wilds. You will need a group.
Wrathion: So, General Twinbraid is dead? He was a pivotal figure in the Alliance push through Southern Barrens, impressive work.
Wrathion: You were being tested, (class). I knew you were capable of great things by yourself.
But you have proven to me that you have the makings of a leader, cobbling together support among a group of strangers in the midst of a battlefield.
The Horde is fortunate to have you.
The Prince’s Pursuit
Wrathion: My goal is an expedient end to this costly war. Prove to me that the Horde deserves to win. Show me your prowess on the battlefied.
You are not fighting some abstract force like the sha: You are facing your enemy head-on, eye-to-eye.
Will you triumph?
Kill Alliance forces along the southern shores of Krasarang Wilds until you are Revered with the Black Prince.
Wrathion: Welcome back, champion of the Horde! How fares the battle along the coast?
Marvelous! Even in the midst of the chaos of battle you’ve proven that an individual can have an impact. The Alliance buckles under Horde might, although their King refuses to break.
I believe it is time for a more substantial challenge…
A Test of Valor
(Without warning Wrathion slices his thumb and presses it against your forehead. His blood burns to the touch, but rapidly disappears into your skin.)
There! My eye is upon you, (class). I am watching.
The Pandaren, like the Alliance, value the concept of “Valor.” There are many ways to prove yourself valorous on this continent, from daily tasks to the defeat of heroic enemies within their lair. I will let you choose your own course.
Prove your bravery to me, (name)!
Gain the “A Test of Valor” Achievement by earning a total of 3000 Valor Points.
Note: Takes about 3 weeks to complete by reaching the Valor cap (1000) each week. Thus make sure not to spend your Valor Points for a while if you are at the Krasarang Wilds PvE Landfall part (Incoming…).
(Wrathion nods slowly.)
Yes, (name). I saw your deeds, and I was most impressed.
You are truly an instrument of change.
Secret of the First Empire
Wrathion: For two thousand years the mogu ruled this entire land. So brutal was their regime that its name is never uttered aloud: Pandaren call it either the “Old Kingdom” or “First Dynasty.”
The Thunder King was its founder and first emperor. He amassed enormous power on what is now the Isle of Thunder.
His time has passed,
Collect 20 Secrets of the Empire and 40 Trillium Bars.
Wrathion: What have you uncovered from the Throne of Thunder? Is the Thunder King’s ferocious reputation warranted?
(Wrathion inspects the treasures you brought him.)
Wrathion: Well done. The trillium will need additional refinement, of course, but these samples are pure.
I will need to study these artifacts for a time but I believe I can use the knowledge contained here to craft something of great value to us both.
Trial of the Black Prince
Wrathion: I have on good authority that you are a champion among champions, but if you’ll permit me this indulgence, I would like to test your mettle for myself.
The mogu who assault the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, the mogu minions who inhabit Shan’ze Dao, and the sha-corrupted mantid swarming the Dread Wastes… these may provide an adequate challenge for one of your stature.
Prove yourself to me. No rush – I expect this to take you some time.
Earn an Honored Reputation with the Black Prince. Level 90 mogu and mantid in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, Townlong Steppes and the Dread Wastes will earn reputation.
- The Black Prince (Honored)
Wrathion: Marvelous. That did not take long at all.
Word of your many achievements has been the talk of the Vale!
Very well, I will take you under my wing.
Stranger in a Strange Land
Excuse me, (class). Is your name (name)?
A figure in a dark cloak asked that I give this to you. She was a traveler from beyond the mists, like yourself, but – well, I didn’t trust her.
The message comes from a tavern in the veiled stair. I’ll give you the note but… you should watch your back if you venture up there!
Seek out “The Black Prince” at the Tavern in the Mists in the Veiled Stair.
I have gone through great effort to learn your name, and I am pleased that one of my missives found its intended recipient.
All is quiet on Pandaria – for the moment – but world events are developing quickly. Help me to shape the course of the upcoming conflict and you will be generously rewarded.
Please seek me out at the Tavern in the Mists, hidden away in the Veiled Stair.
-The Black Prince
Wrathion: So, my note found its way to you!
Wrathion: My people have done their job and brought you to me. Wonderful.
(The Black Prince looks you up and down.)
History finds us at a turning point. If you are prepared to meet destiny with me head on, I will ensure that you are richly rewarded for your efforts.
(What are you doing here?)
Wrathion: Certainly I’m allowed to have SOME secrets. Wouldn’t you agree,
I arrived shortly after the mists collapsed – I was able to fly here after my Ravenholdt colleagues learned of a naval battle off of these shores.
This land has been hidden for ten thousand years. I’ve only just begun to plumb its depths!
Wrathion: It is very good to meet you, (class). You are one of the vanguard, it would seem – an explorer in a strange new land. And how have you been finding the mysterious continent of Pandaria?
You have the look of someone who gets things done. I want you to return to me once you’ve gotten the lay of the land.
I will be right here.
(Who are you?)
Wrathion: I have chosen the name “Wrathion.” To my knowledge, I am the last of the black dragons.
My father was Deathwing, the Worldbreaker, the Aspect of Death, the Destroyer … But I hope you will not hold that against me.
I have no love for my father, whose corruption destroyed my race, or for the Red Dragonflight, who stole away and experimented on my egg to create me.
Let’s just say, I am … unaffiliated. And I am always on the lookout for like-minded heroes.
