Over the years, I have been messaged by fans who reach out to me to say thanks and to keep up the good work. Especially, the Blizzard Licensed Products coverage. I have covered several eBay listings from time to time, and they have gotten popular. I’m adding a new section named Blizzarre Auctions to showcase some of the best picks of the week.
I was surprised to find a now rare collection of Tokyopop Warcraft Manga Lot in auction. Note: The Death Knight book has a tear in one of the first pages.

- World of Warcraft Legends Vol. 1-5
- Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy – DragonHunt
- Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy – Ghostlands
- World of Warcraft: Mage

2002 Blizzard-Employee World of Warcraft L-Silk Shirt
The really bizarre item in auction right now is the 2002 World of Warcraft Blizzard Employee L-Silk Shirt with a whooping $429 [Buy it Now] price tag.
The bottom of the shirt reads Blizzard Entertainment and also has the artist’s signature. Justin Thavirat was a World of Warcraft (2004) lead artist and credited as an artist in StarCraft (1998), Diablo (1996), and Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness (1995) and their collective expansions. Justin also got a special thanks credit in the South Park (TV Series) Episode: Make Love, Not Warcraft (2006).
Now, I don’t know if this shirt — at that price tag — should be worn. I’d treat it as a collectible piece of art. Make sure to frame it.

YouTube Geek Week’s “Beyond the Trailer” host Grace Randolph interviewed Blizzard Entertainment Lead Publishing Micky Neilson.
Grace Randolph discussed with Micky Neilson that some people usually watch a movie and then wants to read the book.
This in reference to the recent announcement of the Warcraft film by director Duncan Jones at the San Diego Comic Con.
Micky Neilson explains that the story right now in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria is getting really exciting with Garrosh Hellscream trying to dominate all of Azeroth.
The curious thing is that it seems we will hear about Garrosh Hellscream in the next expansion — though it could be open to interpretation.
“Now with World of Warcraft, the game itself is in a very exciting state right now. You got the continent of Pandaria which has been discovered in the latest expansion: Mists of Pandaria.
Players are exploring that new continent and this latest expansion really shines a spotlight on the primary conflict between two major factions: the Horde and the Alliance.
So you got the Alliance led by humans, and you got the Horde led by orcs — specifically by Garrosh Hellscream who is a complete hothead and he’s trying to dominate everything and everybody and he doesn’t care what he has to do in order to accomplish that.
For the game, it’s going to be very exciting — especially over the course of this expansion and the next expansion to see what happens.”
Micky also talks a bit about the upcoming DK Publishing World of Warcraft: Ultimate Visual Guide.
For decades, the war between the Horde and the Alliance has raged on in the fantasy world of Azeroth. Millions of players have chosen a faction and fought alongside one another in Blizzard Entertainment’s critically acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft® — and since its release in 2004, the game has grown to become the most popular subscription-based MMORPG on the planet.
Created in close collaboration with Blizzard, World of Warcraft®: The Ultimate Visual Guide explores the major characters, key locations, and epic history of this battle-scarred realm, and will capture any adventurer’s imagination with its breadth of detail. Players will find a treasure trove of game knowledge, as the book delves deep into the series’ lore and even goes be yond the game, giving readers a peek at the behind-the-scenes development of Blizzard’s vivid fantasy world. This detailed guide is the perfect companion for any adventurer, Alliance or Horde.
Cesar (Blizzplanet-ES) informed me io9 broke the news that Legendary Entertainment director Duncan Jones has revealed a teaser trailer of the Warcraft Film. No one has been able to find a video as it took everyone by surprise.
Duncan Jones mentioned this is a “mood piece” of live action footage, and confirms the shooting of the film will begin early 2014. Some people describe the teaser “mood piece” as gritty and similar to “300″. On another note, Duncan Jones and Legendary invite fans to send questions about the Warcraft film at hashtag: #AskWarcraft
I will be diligently searching for the teaser trailer.
io9: “Holy crap, there was a big surprise at the Legendary/Warner Bros. panel just now. We saw the-first ever teaser for the World of Warcraft movie, in which a mighty armored warrior goes head-to-head with a huge green orc.” …
“And director Duncan Jones came out and told the crowd that he always wanted to make movies where “you delve into fantasy” — and this project is a dream come true, because he gets to create a whole world. And he announced that he starts filming in early 2014.” — source
On Thursday, July 18th – a fan asked Chris Metzen if Warcraft film info would be coming out on BlizzCon. Chris slowly looked at his watch hinting something was about to happen within a short time.
On Saturday, July 20th — Legendary Entertainment debuted a Warcraft film “mood piece” teaser of a human versus an orc. After the “mood piece”, Duncan Jones appeared on-stage and screams in a geeky-fashion revealing that the shooting of the Warcraft film is confirmed to be early 2014. Video below:

VP of Art and Cinematic Development Nick Carpenter tweeted the SDCC website updated the SDCC Exclusive merchandise page. The Funko Mini-Sylvanas POP Vinyl costs $18 and the Funko Baneling and the Zergling cost $35.
Something that totally got me off-guard is that there is no such thing as a Baneling Plush Toy, and a Zergling Plush Toy. This thing is awesome. The Zergling Plush transforms into a Baneling by opening a zipper and pulling out a hidden skin that you wrap on top of the Zergling. Holy molly! Neat! That rocked someone’s socks.
I totally recommend following @FubarNick — lot of cool stuff can be found out.
Deadline reports Legendary Entertainment CEO Thomas Tull is likely to make an announcement this week about the new partnership after departing the expired eight-year contract with Warner Bros.
The two top candidates are Comcast and NBCUniversal. According to Deadline, Comcast offered a tempting offer.
Other potential partners are rumored to be Lionsgate, Sony, and Fox.
San Diego Comic Con starts next week — where Legendary Pictures has a panel about its 2013 film lineup. This might be a good timing to make a partnership announcement.
Deadline.com — EXCLUSIVE: I’ve learned that Legendary Entertainment‘s Thomas Tull could announce his selection of a new film/television financial, distribution, marketing, and production partnership as early as this week after kicking tires all over Hollywood. And insiders tell me that Comcast is his choice barring some last-minute over-the-top offer from a rival media giant. “NBCUniversal has been the likely candidate from the beginning. — source
The conclusion of the World of Warcraft: Dawn of the Aspects: Part V e-novella by New York TImes best selling author Richard A. Knaak has reached its conclusion and it is available today.
The final installment in an all-new World of Warcraft e-novella series from New York Times bestselling author Richard A. Knaak!
The age of dragons is over. Uncertainty plagues Azeroths ancient guardians as they struggle to find a new purpose. This dilemma has hit Kalecgos, youngest of the former Dragon Aspects, especially hard. Having lost his great powers, how can heor any of his kindstill make a difference in the world?
The answer lies in the distant past, when savage beasts called proto-dragons ruled the skies. Through a mysterious artifact found near the heart of Northrend, Kalecgos witnesses this violent era and the shocking history of the original Aspects: Alexstrasza, Ysera, Malygos, Neltharion, and Nozdormu.
In their most primitive forms, the future protectors of Azeroth must stand united against Galakrond, a bloodthirsty creature that threatens the existence of their race. But did these mere proto-dragons face such a horrific adversary alone, or did an outside force help them? Were they given the strength they would become legendary foror did they earn it with blood? Kalecgoss discoveries will change everything he knows about the events that lead to the…dawn of the Aspects.

Kalec’s mind continues his involuntary journey into the far past of Azeroth in the body of Malygos the proto-dragon.
The relic belonging to Watcher Tyr has forced him to relive Malygos’ experiences and those of the former Aspects against Galakrond.
A time before the Titans blessed them to become Dragon Aspects and guardians of the world of Azeroth.
Jaina finally infiltrates the Nexus, bypassing the ward defenses of Watcher Tyr’s relic. However, she finds a unconscious Kalec undergoing the slow process of a unnatural metamorphosis.
In the past, Galakrond has nearly exterminated the proto-dragon population, and as he feeds he continues to transform and grow to unimaginable size.
This story fleshes out how these proto-dragons came closer together fighting for survival even though they were not exactly family. Friendships are born and take deep root.
Their individual abilities working in concert against Galakrond, inspired by Watcher Tyr’s strategies.
Considering the main characters are the proto-dragons we know and love at a primal stage with a reduced intelligence and limited grasp of a language, I’m impressed Richard A. Knaak managed to write this story.
There is more action in this story than dialogue. Both are balanced by the continuous point of view of Kalec glueing together the action and the conversations for a fluid story.
Toward the end, we learn how Galakrond died in Dragonblight, and the reader is surprised by how intrepid the feat of defeating such a behemoth came to fruition.
Readers will briefly glimpse into the arrival of two Watchers of Ulduar, and what seemed to be the Titans, moments before the blessing that transformed the 5 proto-dragons into the Dragon Aspects.
Tyr, the Watcher
The final pages of the e-novella hint we haven’t seen the last of Tyr in the present era.
Tyr looked like a character who has no second thoughts on leaving his brethren in order to fulfill his purpose as protector of Azeroth. This character truly inspires. I see so many parallels with Archangel Tyrael who said: “You cannot judge me. I am justice itself! We were meant for more than this! To protect the innocent! But if our precious laws bind you all to inaction … then I will no longer stand as your brother.”
Tyr is legendary. Epic. I’m totally sold on this character, and seeing his role in Norse mythology, and his role in the inspiration for the Order of the Silver Hand, I am certain Chris Metzen and the creative team has something epic in store for players in a future expansion with Tyr playing an important role.
One doesn’t need to be a telepath to understand Blizzard’s “To be Continued” signals.
We have read about Galakrond throughout all 5 parts of the story, but some aspects of the plot were left unresolved. As per the author, this was intentional. Blizzard Entertainment has plans for the future of the World of Warcraft universe.
The new 5-part e-novella format is really good. I kept looking at the calendar awaiting the next release date to get my crave fix. A trait I used to have back in the day when waiting for the next monthly comic book. At Blizzard Creative Team: Keep’em coming!
