Email Scam Alert

There is a fake / scam email circulating—please beware not to click the link in that email nor provide personal info. Blizzard will never ask for your account password, nor will threat you with a character deletion. Characters remain saved until you reactivate your account.

The email seems to be real because it comes from account@worldofwarcraft.com—however, this email did not come from Blizzard.

Please never provide personal info. Place your mouse over links without clicking them to see the URL. If it is not linking to http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/ do not click.

The Fake / Scam email reads as follow:

Dear valued customer,

This is the official notification from WOW, that your account will be deactivated and deleted if not reviewed immediately.

Click Here and review your WOW account

SERVICE : On-line Payments
EXPIRE DATE : January 11, 2007

STEP 1-2 : Click the “Click Here” link and sign-in to your WOW account
STEP 2-2 : Review your account (enter your real name)
