The Activision Blizzard second quarter 2012 results conference call will take place on August 2, 2012. While it’s not guaranteed, there’s a possibility that Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime might make a few announcements.

Don’t forget to visit us after August 2 for screenshots of the slideshow presentation and a transcript.

Speculation

It wouldn’t be Blizzplanet, if there weren’t some speculation mill going on. We are Blizzard fans just like yourself.

With the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria opening cinematic debuting at GamesCom (August 15-19), the DC Comics World of Warcraft: Pearl of Pandaria launching September 5, and a teaser posted last week hinting at the upcoming announcement of the Mists of Pandaria Collector’s Edition, and the recent waves of beta keys — Blizzplanet’s Eldorian, Chris “The Bearded Gamer” Arnone, and myself strongly agree Blizzard might be launching Mists of Pandaria by the end of August – September range.

This conference call might therefore be a good candidate for important announcements concerning the launch date of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. Are we wrong? Sounds good? Let us know your feedback.

Diablo III Patch 1.1 will introduce PvP arenas. It’s unknown when this patch will come out, but August 2 isn’t too far away now, is it? Mike Morhaime might likely mention details of patch 1.1 during the conference call.

Last, but not least, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm was recently playable at the 2012 MLG Anaheim Spring Championship. Eldorian, DJTyrant, and Chris played it.

I wouldn’t say StarCraft II HOTS will be sale before 2013, but certainly the beta testing might start well before 2013 — considering beta testing lasts at least six months. Will Mike Morhaime give us a approximate early/late Quarter target for its beta testing? (keeps fingers crossed).
